What happened to AllSeated, and what to use instead

Migration guide · Updated August 2026

AllSeated launched in 2014 and became the default seating tool for a lot of independent planners: fast, cheap or free, self‑serve, and simple enough to lay out a 120‑guest reception in an hour.

In January 2024 it rebranded to Prismm and pivoted toward enterprise hospitality: 3D venue walkthroughs, virtual collaboration, sales‑team onboarding. In April 2025 Cvent acquired it. The allseated.com URL still resolves, but it points at an enterprise sales motion, not the tool you remember.

And now it is closing.

Cvent is retiring the standalone Prismm platform on 31 December 2026, with the product going view‑only on 1 October 2026. If your guest lists are still sitting in an old AllSeated account, export them before then.

Mezze is the closest thing to what AllSeated was before the pivot: seating first, in the browser, no demo call, free to start. The difference is that it also handles the parts of a wedding that surround the chart, which is where planners actually lose their evenings.

Moving your guest list across

Your guest list transfers as a CSV. It takes a few minutes and nothing has to be retyped.

  1. Open Reports in PrismmSign in, open the event you want to move, and go to the Reports section.
  2. Choose the Guests reportSet Report Type to Guests. In the Fields dropdown, tick everything you want to keep: name, party size, RSVP status, meal or dietary notes, table.
  3. Generate and export to CSVClick GENERATE, then export to CSV (Excel). That file is your guest list.
  4. Import it into MezzeOpen Mezze, go to Guests, and choose Import. Upload the CSV or XLSX straight from your downloads folder.
  5. Map the columnsMezze reads your headers and matches them automatically. Prismm lets you rename export columns, so if anything looks off you can correct it from a dropdown before confirming. You see a preview and a summary before a single guest is created.

What does not transfer: floor plans and templates. Cvent has confirmed templates do not migrate, which is true whichever tool you move to. In Mezze you rebuild the room from a room template in a couple of minutes, or upload a screenshot or PDF of your existing layout as a background and place tables on top of it to scale.

What Mezze does that old AllSeated did not

What it does not do: 3D venue walkthroughs. If that is what you need, Cvent Event Diagramming is the successor product.

Questions

What happened to AllSeated?

AllSeated rebranded to Prismm in January 2024 and moved toward enterprise hospitality. Cvent acquired Prismm in April 2025 and folded it into its enterprise event stack. Cvent is now retiring the standalone platform entirely on 31 December 2026, with view-only access from 1 October 2026.

Is AllSeated still free?

No. Prismm does not publish a free plan and pricing is quote-only, scaled for venues. Mezze keeps a permanent free tier covering one active wedding with an unlimited guest list.

What is the closest replacement for what AllSeated used to be?

For an independent wedding planner, a seating-first browser tool with self-serve sign-up, CSV guest import and print-ready exports. Mezze is built for exactly that, and adds the couple workspace, vendor handoffs and run of show that AllSeated never had.

Can I move my old AllSeated guest lists?

Yes, if you can still sign in. Use the Reports section, pick the Guests report type, choose your fields, generate and export to CSV, then import that file into Mezze. Floor plans and templates do not transfer, which is true of any destination tool.

How much does Mezze cost?

Free for one active wedding with unlimited guests and every export. Unlimited active weddings are $24.99 a month or $199 a year in USD.
